You can also run the engine until its warm, then at fast idle slowly pour about a 1/2 pint of transmission fluid into the carburetor. Do it slowly to not kill the engine. As soon as its gone through and the engine smooths out, shut the engine down. Let it sit overnight and try it. This tends to loosen and remove carbon buildup so it doesn't hurt anything as it passes out the valves. I've done this over the last thirty years with good results. I would rather use transmission fluid or brake fluid. I've just never liked the idea of putting water in an engine, though I know others have had success with it.
