Reminds me of the story of the German auto worker, between the World Wars. Germany was prohibited from manufacturing arms or military materiel.
The factory worker, not having enough money to buy a car, decides to bring home one piece at a time. He finally succeeds in building his "kit" car in the garage out back, and tells his co-workers what he's done.
"How does it look?" they ask.
He says "It looks like a tank."
