In 1974 when I was living in eastern NC, two of my pals and I went down to Great Lake in Croatan National Forest on a hunting trip. It has been raining for many dys and the dirt road to the lake was very soft, muddy and sloppy. The road was merely some high ground made by digging canal on each side of the intended road and placing the spoils in the center. We came upon a "Bomb Ba Deer" sunk in the middle of the "road". The choice was not good at this point. I pulled around the right side of the stuck vehicle with fractions of a foot on each side and went around it. It was really close as the road was not level. Either hit the vehicle or slide into the canal. We made it just fine. I did not dare stop and risk getting stuck as well. I was also pulling a boat loaded with decoys behind the Power-Wagon. We hunted ducks all day and went back the same route as there ws only one road in/out. (Did not see a duck all day!)
