Paul the red and brown probley are the positive feeds to the motor for high and low speed with the negitive being the frame ground. You can check this by reading to the metal frame to each wire. If you get a different reading then that is what they are. If no reading to the metal on either wire then one is a neg and the other a pos and the speed is controled by the switch. The other 3 wires probley go to limint switches for the return of the wipers to rest. You could test for resistance to ground on the red and brown, higher the resistance slow speed I would guess. The other 3 probley have no conection to ground and and one will be a common and the other two being conected to the common depending on the posision of the motor gearing. There will be no resistance in these wires if they are used for that. Check the diagram you may have got in the eMail and see if it looks that way. Mark H.
