Rollogons are still made, if I am correct. I bet you could still get tires from them.
I have taken a ride in one. We were on the artic ice cap north of what is called ANWAR (Artic National Widlife ...) in NE Alaska (Offshore drilling for oil and gas). I turned down a ride one night as my shift was coming up. Later we hear a call over the radio from the guy. He fell through the ice and could not get the rollogon up and over the edge of the ice. They float very nicely. They sent a CAT out to pull him out. The have a foot print that is so large that they only exert about 2psi. You can get run over by one of those multi ton vehicles and not get hurt. They were used so that no damage would occur to the tundra up there. They did less damage that you would walking over the tundra.
