Keith:

Yeah, but the problem is they no longer employ mechanics, they only have technicians. Unfortunately, I am not able to do what I once did, so I have to depend on others. I do have a friend that IS a good mechanic, and has his own shop. With the Durango, it was warranty work that I was in for, and when they mentioned my brakes, my friend was on vacation, so I couldn't bring it right to him. After about a week, I started to hear a grinding sound when I hit the brakes.

Couldn't wait any longer, and as it was, I waited to long. So, I bent over with my jar of Vasoline and hoped for the best. I went with the Hawk Super Duty brake pads. A word of warning, they squeak an awful lot.

I was never a big fan of the brakes on the Durango. They always left something to be desired. With these new and different parts on, they respond much better than they ever did, but I'm still not happy with them. Next time out, I think I'll go with the 4 piston calipers, and maybe even a still larger rotor? I fully intend to keep this Durango running for my granson, and my son is only 13, so I still have a ways to go yet. HA!
