I was around then, I was listening to the Truman-Ike debates.
Cummins is sandbagging in the Dodge Rams too. The 5.9 can get over 750 hp in some configurations, all we need is a stronger trans and drivetrain. It's comedy to watch gm and ferd try to wring more hp and torque out of their diesel engines, then Cummins just makes a slight adjustment to pass them up again.
