Jeff,

Let me build on Paul's comments above, because I think they are right on!

There are no suppliers that carry new on the shelf springs for Power Wagons. You have two options for a replacement spring: take-offs (this is all VPW carries) or custom springs (copied or engineered as Paul discussed).

For takeoffs, you are getting a spring of unknown age, arch and wear. Even in the best case you are getting 1940's techbology. This is a decent low-cost alternative, but not an optimal solution for a daily driver.

As Paul mentioned there are some drawbacks regarding the custom springs as well. Mainly, the results can vary widely and the cost is high! And, the best case senario is 1970's technology.

In comparison, the springs that I would be supplying would be high quality, relatively lowcost and provide state of the art technology.

What do you think?
Dan
