The motor in stock form was a great motor! The main reason for going to the 4 bbl is because there really isn't a decent 2bbl out there (a Weber maybe?) that fits the stock manifold. Replacement parts and 2 bbl rebuild are rare and getting rarer. You might take a tracing of the intake or a carb gasket with you to a salvage yard and look at Pinto's or others with the 2 bbl Weber. I'm sure an adapter plate is required and in the long run it may be more economical to put the 4 bbl intake on it. You can also watch e-bay for old stock 4 bbl Poly intakes, as pictured, occasionally one comes along.
