I concur with Bruce B.. I simply attached a ground wire to one of brass ring mounting screws and ran it to a frame ground. It also helps to make sure the fuel gauge mounting bracket has a good ground to the dashboard. Usually the mounting backet itself is the ground via contact with the metal of the dash.
