OK I understand where you are coming from. The drive lines never go straight into the 3rd member. In fact there must be an angle for the U joints to work. The key point is the the center line of the pinion must be parallel to the output shaft of the transfer case in both axis (horizontal and vertical) The crank shaft of the engine must be parallel to the input shaft of the transfer case (again in both vert and horiz). Same goes for the front pinion. Basically all the rotating shafts are basically parallel and the drive lines just connect them. If you follow Jeeps they are always talking about high angle drive shafts. The angle that they are talking about is the angle between the pinion and drive shaft.

I just saw an note on this an I do not remember where I saw it.

The front springs on a ff PW are almost flat when new (installed springs with truck weight on them). There is a small arch to them. The rear springs are not highly arched. The ride height on the rear is dependent on which rear springs that your truck is equiped with (number of leaves varies).

You may be trying to solve a problem that is not there. Find a very flat piece of ground and look at how your truck sits. It should be level left to right and lower in the front. The truck frame is higher in the rear to allow for spring compression with a load in the bed. You can actually measure frame to ground to give you some what of an idea. But that is only approximate as the ground is never level even a paved surface. It will be come obvious if you have a sagged, bent or broken spring. The frame to ground measurement is not always good as the frame could also be bent. I also measure from the top of the axle housing to the frame directly above it. The two front measurements should be the same. The rear measurements should also be equal but not to the front measurement.
