I totally agree with you! I am also not sure if the original vintage Pw's were equipped with fuel filters, which might have made a difference in the original mechanical fuel pumps.
Stored vehicles in general, deteriate their mechanical seals. My general ambition is to start each vechicle each month, and at least run them up and down the barn road each month during the winter time. I believe it helps maintain the life of engine seals, brake seals, etc....
