Happy New Year to All!!

If you are planning to rebuild your truck's rear springs or if you can't force grease in the spring pins of the rear springs without jacking the frame up, it's time to replace the pin and possibly the bushing. McQuay-Norris still makes the pin for the following vehicles sold in pairs. The part number is SK4640. I paid $10.95 a pair at Kragen Auto. Ask them to look up by part number when ordering.

You can make a pin extractor tool by using a 3/8-24 x 4-6 lgh. bolt and 3/8ths nut. Cut threads to the bolt head. You will need a barrel at least 3/4 ID and two inches long - steel pipe or spacer. Turn the nut to the head bolt, use a couple of washers, then barrle and then screw bolt into pin. Hold the head bolt while turning the nut to extract pin.
