I was raised on a farm and to us we always measured by full cords. When I moved to the city I ordered a cord of firewood and the guy dropped a few buckets of logs in my driveway! That's when I learned that firewood is measured by face cords!

Live and learn...

FYI, in Montreal, a face cord of firewood sells for about 80-90$CAN. I order an 18 wheeler of logs and saw and split it myself and it comes to 25-40$CAN a face cord. Three years ago a truckload of logs was 1000$, now it's 1500$.
