You really cant compare the shifter position on a PW to a M-37. Two entirely different trucks.

First, I too am 6' tall, 180 pounds, as a reference. My Power Wagon has the standard bench seat. I do have a NP-435 Tranny which moved the shifter opening back a little. I never have a problem hitting the shifter or wheel. Power Wagons are a unique problem. The rear of the cab is right behind the seat, there is no room to scoot the seat back where most of us would like to have it. Its possible that Explorer Buckets with the thinner Lazyback would scoot back a little giving more leg room.

On my Carryall, which for all practable purposes has the same cab arrangement as a PW, I could move the seat way back since its all open to the rear. The M-37 rear of cab is further back than a PW. This allowed me to have the power seat all the way to the rear as you see in the picture. Even at 6 feet, I scooted forward in the seat about an 2 inches for a more comfortable leg to Go Pedal. So, the bottom line is that for a tall person the seat can go all the way back. For a shortie, it has full range of the power seat to come forward, plus the other power adjustments.
