I have a Jacobs Exhaust Brake on my 03 Ram CTD.
It works great when pulling my Goosneck with a GCVW of 19,500. I also use it most of the time when empty. It really saves the service brakes and will make them last a lot longer. That does seem like a high price for the Jake. I paid $1400 in 03 for mine. I had the dealer install mine so its covered under warantee. Get them to sharpen their pencil on the Jake, But I really suggest you get it.
