That's probably good advice. I've changed pos to neg ground on many rigs with mechanical regulators and they've always polarized just fine, but you're right that they do get polarized according to how they're used. By the way, have you priced new mechanical regulators theses days? What was $15 a few years ago is now $60! It's time to save all old mechanical regulators any time you come across one.
