Most freight moves from East to west leaving the drivers without loads on the return trip, or that is what we have experienced. Look for an independant trucker that needs a backhaul and I bet it'll be in the $2,500 range, but Im not a trucker. Typically we pay $3,500 to 4,500 for a flatbed from WI to Northern CA loaded with construction materials.
