The hood hinge assembly is a simple insert of the "rod" side into the side with the hole. The rod protrudes at each end and is secured to via chrome "hood hinge ends" which attach to the radiator cowl and the cab cowl. The front one bolts to a removable plate with shims for alignment, using tapered-head screws. The rear one attaches to a captive plate enclosed in the cowl, again with tapered-head screws. This one can be a real bear to remove. I have one still frozen in place after six months of PB Blaster, etc.

Roberts Motor Parts sells the hood hinge ends for something like $40 each. They get surface rust pretty quickly if exposed to the elements. You may want to get originals and have them professionally plated.

Both hood halves have hood supports (the "V" rods). These are readily available used. Let me know if you have trouble finding one, I may have some laying around.
