Oil systems usually run lots hotter then the cooling system, like 270 degrees. Notice that Willy-N's tranny light comes on at 265? It's to keep the water form boulding up and truning into sludge.
AAAnd, oils all get thin as water at that temp,regardless of initial viscosity.
