Jill,

Carfax is not the end all be all of used car info that it makes itself out to be.

You are inticed to get the initial report for free. IT ALWAYS HAS FINDINGS. But no details. many times it is just when the car was registered or sold and re-registered.

As far as I know, Carfax is only as good as the info that was put into it and unless thigs have change since I used Carfax trhee years ago, NOT ALL DEALERSHIPS, POLICE DEPTS, BODY SHOPS, MECHANIC SHOPS, PRIVATE CITIZENS ARE REQUIRED TO PUT INFO INTO CAR FAX.

NOTE: Carfax even has an automatic money return policy. They know many people feel mislead.

I used it trhee uears ago when looking at used trucks from dealers and got my money back when I check out one truck that had been in a severe front end accident and Carfax had NO INFO on it.

Be careful,

Mark in NJ
