Generally if you pack enough grease into a slip joint untill it forces out the small air breather hole near the U-joint, centrifugal force will spread the grease throughout the splines. Most service people are spoiled by the lack of Zerks on modern vehicles and they don't use enough grease. Most slip yokes are balanced for one Zerk also. Adding another will cause an out of balance condition.
