They are computer-assisted drawings, using as reference, I would assume, photographs that would probably be old, faded, shot at odd angles, etc, rather than from engineering drawings, which are in the International Museum of Unobtainium.
I agree that some of the dimensions look a little off, but I like them more as art, than as exact drawings.
