Running board carriage bolts and spacers

Anyone know the size (diameter and length) of carriage bolt used to fasten the running boards to the runningboard brackets?

I guess the spacer blocks for the runningboard are 2" tall x 1-1/4" wide(noted from early posting 10/13/04) x 11-1/2" long with 3/8" dia holes at 6-3/4" oc (first one placed 7/8" from end). Rather than use wood which will eventually rot, has anyone used anything else? I was thinking of high density polyethelene (cuttingboard plastic) or rubber blocks although I don't know where I would get rubber blocks. Any comments?

The PIF doesn't mention bolt size and it conflicts with the width saying its 7/8-1. Can anyone confirm the width as either 1-1/4" or 1-7/8"? I'm assuming the holes are drilled the 2" length.

Thanks
