There were 2 different transmissions with straight cut gears. The 'up to' transmissions were used until sometime in 1950, while the 'after' transmissions were used until they went to synchromesh 3rd and 4th gears. Your transmission should be the 'after' type, which is a lot less common than the 'up to' and the synchromesh transmissions.
