I know there is a difference between the first series and second series transmission with regards to the PTO. The PTO for the first series transmission has gears that protrude less than the second series by about 1/4". The second series sticks out about 1 3-16". This affects how far the pto is from the transmission and can cause interference with the brake pedal.
I don't know if this helps, but it sure took me a long time to figure it out. I was going to replace my Braden PTO bud didn't.
