The previous owner made a homemade counter weight which works fantastic when heavy loads are in the bucket.
He took a 55 gal drum, ran a cat 2 drawbar through it horizontally just above the midpoint, put in a few pieces of steel for the top link attachment, and filled it with concrete.
When I pick that up with the rear arms, it really counterbalances the bucket if I have wet manure or a large oak log on it.
