Do you get any pinging/knocking when accelerator is pushed down or under load? That is another sign of a head gasket problem. When they first start going you have rough idle, sometimes slight antifreeze loss with none on the ground and poor mileage. Check engine lights don't always come on until things get really bad. I've gone through this one and a compression check will rule it out. Kevin
