The main thing you need is the air-pak

The axles don't care -- everything in there is straight hydraulic. M35 Rockwell axles have a single wheel cylinder in each hub; M211/M135 GMC axles have two cylinders. Both are readily available and reasonably cheap.

The air-pak is the combination of master cylinder and the air-powered boost unit for it. There are a number of different makes, but if you're willing to do some fabricating of mounting, linkage, and plumbing, any air-pak off of any similar-sized truck should work. They are a bit finnicky and can get stuck in various ways, including locking the brakes on. The air-paks used on the M35s require lubrication for the air cylinder which is NOT shown in the TM, and therefore tends not to get done. If you get a used air-pak off of anything, I'd recommend taking it all apart and cleaning, oiling (air tool oil) or replacing anything that needs it before installing it.

The good thing about air-over-hydraulic brakes vs normal truck air brakes is that if you lose air pressure you can still drive the truck.

Do you still have the air-pak that was on the M135? That would seem like the best place to start, if you have it, but you should definitely rebuild it before attempting to use it.

If you want, I'll copy the diagrams of the M35 and M135 air systems out of the TMs and send them to you.
