I think the big problem is the Ice not so much the Snow. When they freeze to the windsheild and you turn it on it just rips out the gears. The snow problem is when it is piled all over them and you try to use them or it is wet and builds up as it trys to wipe it off. My un/heated or barly heated cabs used to cause the slush and ice to form and a lot of times the wipers just slide up and over top of it. This time my Jeep has heat but the wiper motors are shot allready. Mark H.
