The problem was that light coming on. Transmission works fine even if the light is on except the Over Drive gets locked out. Now with the old fluid it did make the pan hotter to the touch! The gauge at least tells me it is not roasting and when it is getting hot not afterwords. It has not got to where the light comes(265 degs) on Gauge Tempiture wise but it did get to 250 degs once so far for 15 seconds or so. Yes you are making me think and I have a built in Tach did I miss something in another post about a stall test? That was my biggest problem. The dealer said the tranny was shot and needed rebuilding and a new converter installed along with a front pump but I told them it is just the light coming on it shifts fine and nothing else seems wrong except the stupid light how could the tranny be shot it works great except the light being on once in a while. I have had a tranny go bad and know well what happens and this one is not bad it shifts great. Mark H.
