I suppose if one wished to be obstinate and bloodyminded (right up my street), you could burn coal or even coke if the regulations weren't exclusive of those fuels.
Or , if you lived in California. You could sue the timber industry to force them to grow less polluting trees and of course receive punitive damages. Thereby allowing you to spend the cold months in a more hospitable climate until such trees are available for winter heating. I'm sure Governor Beatty will welcome the notion.
