Today, I received the Catalog on remote driven windshield wipers from Specialty Power Window Co. With the permission of the company, I have created a Album on my Image Event Site with Catalog pages and Pictures. The Album is Titled WIPERS

The Remote motor size is shown on the dimension sheet on the Album. This motor provides 300 inch pounds which is 25 foot pounds of output torque. It drives the wiper transmissions through a drive cable that can make a 3 inch radius bend. The cable is furnished in 6 and 12 foot lengths. From our discussion, it appears that the 12 foot cable will be needed for our PW's. The cable is 'field' shortened for both the drive motor to the transmissions and transmissions to transmission for a custom install. The Intermittend wiper control is a cube 2x2x2 inches and probably will be hard to mount in the present switch cluster on a PW. However, the 2 speed wiper switch is only 1.5" round at the rear and will fit in the switch cluster.

The max arm length is 11 inches and the max blade length is 11 inches, all which fall into out needed size range for a PW. Wipers can be parked, both right, both left, both to center or both to outside.

I am working with Specialty Power Windows to come up with a Wiper combination that will fit Power Wagons. Specialty Power Window is sending me 3 transmissions, the Universal, the WWK 4754 and a WWK 5559 for fitting in a Power Wagon, along with their Video Tape which provides complete instruction for installation.

I have a WDX Cab which I just bought which I will use to install the transmissions provided. When I figure out which is the best fit, and why it is the best fit, I will post all information on the forum. Also Pictures of the transmissions install in my WDX Cab will be photographed and pictures uploaded to the WIPERS Album. With the use of my spare WDX Cab, all fitting can be done in the open so I can document all fitting.

As soon as I receive the Transmissions, I will work on fitting them in my WDX Cab. The report will follow immediatelly. This may well be what many of us have been looking for in a quality wiper to handle rain/snow. The company told me they have customers using these wipers in snow applications.

Thats it for now..........Stand By !
