Is the 98 and OBDII or III? If its II the truck will scan itself.

I wouldnt worry about the valve body the increase in pressure is not a bad thing but if the computer doesnt know about the valve body then it reads whats going on and thinks something is wrong or makes adjustments to the transmission that could create a problem.
