What were battery cables made of in 1955 daddy?

OK gurus and other assorted smart folks. I think I now have the correct, cloth covered wiring harness in my '55 C3 (Precision Wiring).
I also believe that I have the right non-boot, (shiny-vinyl-looking-black-wire-casing) spark plug wires (Roberts Motor Parts).
Should the battery cables be cloth covered too? I am guessing so. Any opinions? Any sources?
