Volvo's 4 cylinder engines are quite durable and can be modified
to increase their torque with turbocharing and engine mods.
Maybe the dimensions are small enough where they can be fitted
into a P/W to increase its output while not having to have to
cut out sheetmetal. Most of their rear wheel drive sedans came
with Dana rear ends.
