{{The headers were on the motor when I got it. A friend ( knowing I am wanting to build a strong off roader) suggested I try to find a original set of E-manifolds. Said they are sometimes hard to find, prone to cracking and that is why I probably have headers. Will a set of E-manifolds off a car 440 work on my Trail Duster 440? My motor compartment is going to be custom so this should not be a problem. Thanks in advance!}}

The headers will probably give you better power up the power band. Regular manifolds tend to restrict exhaust and build up back pressure. I replaced a 400 in a '78 Trailduster I had a while back. The engine that was in there was a car engine and the oil pan had been modified to clear the frame with a hammer. That may be part of the reason the engine went bad. (Hey, it ran although not well and I only paid $300 for it, everything else was good) I got a truck oil pan from the Mopar Performance catalog for about $90. The factory replacement cost over $200 and the kit had everything else I needed like the dip stick (it goes in the side of the pan, not the block), oil pickup tube and so on.
