The best way to get rivets out is with a hammer and chisel. I got some running board brackets the other day and there's nothing like doing it the old way. I don't like to use torches as it's so easy to set fire to the truck or crystalize the metal. Once you chisel the head off, knock the rivet out and you're ready to put the thing back together. I use grade 8 bolts and some lock-tite on my mounts.
