If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see four ads and "Ads by Yahoo", there are the same type of ads on most of the peges on this site.
It's not spyware or malware, it doesn't install a program on your computer. It probably records your IP address, which is done on any website you go to.
YPN pays publishers, like myself, when visitors click on the ad links. It's a nice way to subsidize the upkeep of a website. YPN is still in beta, or test. Hopefully it help will defray the cost of running this site.
