Individual leafs are arced such that they only contact each other at the ends, which have teflon glides. Almost eliminates the friction between leafs, so ride like coils. My Googling brings up much info/kits for Land Rovers. Looks to me that any spring shop ought to be able to put some together.

They would make rear shocks a neccessity though, since so much damping on a conventional spring pack is the friction within.
