Happy to have you add the checklist to the PIF which I've referred to a hundred times, thanks for that.

I'm going to try your silicone suggestion to the yoke itself before trying a speedi-sleeve since I have a machine shop weld the grooves before a turn the yoke back down and will definitely go back and silicone the splined yoke definitely don't want oil on the brake band. I was hoping not to have any oil leaks, dreaming the impossible.

I rebuilt the winch myself some time ago. I did fill from the top with 2 pints, the capacity listed in a service manual which did not fill it to the top but definitely put iit over the side plug. Should I just pull the side plug and let it empty to that level?

The rebuilder used assembly lube on the oil pump. Should I still prime throught the filter as you suggested?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had to go back, misery loves company and I always respect your answers to all questions as the answers seem to be very well thought out
