Yes, Dodge late in 1939, that's how the original sets of Carryall doors were made.

In fact Dodge (or a sub-contractor) hand altered a batch of 1940 half ton panel van shells into what appear to be the first Carryalls. You can see from this VC6 liftgate shot that Eric Bannerman took the pressings for the indide of the panel doors. Unfortunately when being restored the rebuilder didn't just put the original van side door hinges top and bottom but used bigger hinges otherwise it would be fairly good work.

There has to be a pile of Carryalls out there that have been bought just to take the rear doors off and sell on, but if I was stuck in that situation I'd buy rear doors and just fit them as they were, since that alteration would be a lot easier than making lift and tailgates. I think Dodge used TWO PAIRS of panel doors to get each set of original lift and tailgates too as you need extra metal to get the overlap area and after all they had a factory full to work with...
