I've towing with a Tekonsha, electric brake inertial controller for 20 plus years, they've always worked great. The Prodigy is just the latest in a long line, it's digital or solid state, whatever you want to call it. They are simple but let you adjust for speed and trailer weight, I suppose the Prodigy does this automatically?
As long it has a manual override switch for stopping only the trailer brakes*, it's a good controller.
