Well you could make your own tank if your handy with a welder. It could be mounted in the bed or under it or you could use a tank from a different model of truck and make your own mounts.
I saw one where a fella used a thin car tank the kind that would normally fit under the trunk like in a chevelle. With custom mounts he tucked up between the frame rails on the under side of the bed. It was nice and high and he had no worries of trail damage. I don't remenber what he did with the filler neck.
If you ever want to sell the in-cab tank let me know I need one for my 74 W200.
