Well after blowing out all the lines for the cooler I figured I would give it one more try on the hill. I left the OD locked out went to town and it did not over heat coming up the hill. When I pulled in the driveway I jumped out and grabed the Cooler Lines and could hold on to them for 30 seconds or more. They were real warm but not so hot I could not keep a hold of them. This tells me the fluid is circulating thru it and is not much hotter then maybe 135 to 150 degs? My thought is to first add another cooler in line with the other one but in front of the AC condencer, remove the transmission off the radiator to lower any extra heat that is being added to the fluid off the hot radiator running at around 185 degs or so. Not sure if a line was pluged befor cause I never grabed the lines after a long drive befor I blew them out. I did grab them just befor doing this and they were cold but I had only drove it 2-3 miles. If this does not solve the problem then I will go the change Trans obtion and yes I bet it is easier then rebuilding a complete truck! The Tranny does not slip or act any different when the light has come on in the past so maybe I caught it befor any real damage was done only driveing a couple miles with that light on. It allways seemed happen right befor I got home at the top of the hill and once in town with a empty trailer behind me. Hate to tear it all apart if this will fix it. Mark H.
