Back in 1994 or 95, at the second Iowa POWERWAGON rally I had attended, my wife, and my two children, (my third was a year in the future), were riding on one of the trail rides with me. I was following another POWERWAGON on one of the trails and had stopped to cross a stream. I followed the line of the truck in front of me but somehow slipped sideways midstream and came to an abrupt stop against the opposite stream bank. Though we were traveling only about 3 miles per hour my oldest daughter, about 3 at the time struck her forehead against the metal dash, also earning a goose egg. Seatbelts were installed 5 days agfter returning home...
