When Delphi was spun off from GM in 1999 the concessions with the UAW guaranteed that wage
scales remain as before. GM expects that costs
of parts from this supplier to decrease.
I don't think the internal structure of Delphi was significantly altered from the GM days, the world markets have drastically changed in the past six years. Big corporations aren't the safety net to employee and penson plans that they once represented.
