Thanks. My drums aren't thin, but one has a pretty good scratch in it where the lining came off. It tend to not like to remove good metal from drums unless I have to, and since I have lots of these surplus shoes, I'll probably just watch and see if they wear too fast. I'm sure it was the overheating on that trip to N Calif that did them in, and towing the M37 just finished them off. It's also good to confirm my hunch that the old asbestos ones are better.
