About 6 years ago we had a yellow lab we named Garbonzo Bean. He loved to chase a ball or a stick or whatever I threw for him.
At 1 1/2 years he got sick and was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer. He still loved to chase after things down to the very end, although he was often very weak and unable to play for very long. He seemed to demand more of my attention and tried to go wherever I went. Dogs are far, far more discerning than people give them credit for. Your dog probably senses what is wrong with her and wants to be with the ones she loves. We got a puppy short after Garbonzo died and he is now 6 years old. It was the best thing we ever did. I couldn't be without a friend who has no limits. I hope you can have as much time with your dog as possible. Jerry
