Jim, The larger trminal is the "Arm" lead.
The smaller ies the "Feild". They should be stamped with an "A" and an "F".
Shouldn't have to do anything but hook up and go, if it was rebuilt and tested properly.
If you do have to "Polarize" just momentarily "jump" the "Batt" and the "Arm" trminals at the regulator while running a little above idle. Should start charging then. TGP
